Republican closing in on Massachusetts Senate seat

by Uncle Abe on January 13, 2010

Scott Brown is now within striking distance of winning the seat formerly held by Ted Kennedy in the U.S. Senate, and Republicans across the nation are sending money and manpower to win this important race.

Brown, a Massachusetts State Senator, is a member of the Massachusetts National Guard, where he has served for nearly three decades and currently holds the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Judge Advocate Generals (JAG) Corps. Brown was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in homeland security following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. His career in public service began as selectman in Wrentham. He then went on to serve three terms as a State Representative and won his current State Senate seat in a special election in 2004. He is currently in his third Senate term.

Recent independent polls show Republican Brown within a single percentage point of his opponent — itself a stunning turn of events in one of the most hardcore Democratic states in the country.

Here’s how you can help:

1: Visit Scott Brown’s website and make an online donation NOW: www.brownforussenate.com/

2. Email your Republican friends and urge them to make a donation immediately.

3. Travel to Massachusetts this weekend and campaign for Scott. The election is next Tuesday, January 19th.

A New York City Volunteer Bus will travel to Massachusetts this Saturday, January 16th, leaving approximately 7:00 AM. Upon arrival, volunteers will go door-to-door with literature, and head home Saturday night around 9PM. Email us at info@brooklyngop.com for details.

If you can travel to Massachusetts on your own, and can stay more than a day, overnight lodging will be provided for the first 200 out-of-state volunteers. For more information, go to: Out-Of-State-For-Brown.
